ANALYSIS: Addressing the White Elephant at Highmark Stadium

When getting a look at the view of Highmark Stadium from across the Mon River, particuarly from Downtown Pittsburgh, you can see the H-O-U-N-D-S letters spread across the empty stands.

Unfortunately, even early in the season while Riverhounds games are going on, you can look from those views and still see those letters in the stands, as attendance numbers have not been great in their first three games.

Is this a legitimate concern?   Or is it has been a slight hiccup and a tough sell early this spring due to a number of mitigating factors like bad weather, conflicts, etc.?

As promised earlier this week, I have tackled this topic in more detail in my column “White Elephant at Highmark Stadium” which you can find on PITTSBURGH SPORTS REPORT‘s web site.
