RMU Men Lose To Hartwick, Fall To 0-3

Moon Township, Pa. (Sept. 4, 2016) – The Hartwick Hawks jumped on top in the fourth minute of play and didn’t look back as they upended the Robert Morris University men’s soccer team, 4-0, behind three goals from Jamie O’Grady. The Colonials slip to 0-3 on the season while the Hawks improve to 2-1.
O’Grady tallied the first of his hat trick in the fourth minute putting home a rebound off the crossbar from Hamish Ritchie. O’Grady made it 2-0 in the 13th minute, this time using his head to bang home a cross from the left corner by Elliott Bentley.
Robert Morris was regaining momentum early in the second half and it nearly culminated in a goal, but a shot from Lucas Puntillo struck the left post and the follow header by Rafael Bruzual sailed wide of that same post. Just two minutes later, O’Grady finished the hat trick with a left-footed volley from the top of the eight-yard box. The play was set up by a cross from the right corner by Jack Donaldson that was flicked to the far post by the head of Kit Tregear.
Hartwick added another score in the 82nd minute when a giveaway along the Colonials backline led to a breakaway opportunity for Cameron Paton. The freshman, who had come as a reserve just moments earlier, slotted a shot low and inside the near right post.
Robert Morris plays its first road contest of the season next Sunday, Sept. 11, when it travels to Olean, N.Y., for a 1:00 p.m. match against St. Bonaventure.
