Katie O’Connor scored once and added two assists in Duquesne’s 4-1 victory over St. Bonaventure on Thursday night in Olean, N.Y. With the win, the Dukes (6-3-2, 3-0-0 A-10) remain tied for first place in the Atlantic 10 Conference with George Mason who defeated Massachusetts 2-1 in overtime earlier tonight. This marks the first time in program history that Duquesne has started out 3-0-0 in conference play.
O’Connor got the Dukes on the board in the 16th minute when she broke free and shot it into the left side netting after receiving a pass from Malea Fabean. Less than eight minutes later, O’Connor set up Linnea Faccenda, who broke the defense and put her low shot past SBU keeper Lauren Malcolm on the left side. The Dukes would hold the 2-0 lead going into halftime.
The Bonnies would strike in the 51st minute on Maddie Mason‘s goal to end the Dukes shutout streak.
Kyra Murphy turned aside four St. Bonaventure shots in recording the win.
The Dukes return home to face Davidson (4-6-1, 0-1-1 A-10) on Sunday at 1:00 PM.
