With a retooled line-up anchored by a back-up goalie thrown into starting eleven only moments prior to kickoff, a resilient Riverhounds squad earned a much needed 2-0 shutout over Tampa Bay Rowdies on Thursday night at Highmark Stadium.

It was a win that snapped a five-game winless streak, pushing the Hounds (5-6-4, 19 points) right back over the playoff line in the crowded USL Eastern Conference.

“It a huge win,” said Corey Hertzog.  “We haven’t won in the last three games, and against a top three team, that’s all you can ask for.”
