Faccenda’s brace leads Duquesne women to first win

Linnea Faccenda netted a pair of goals in leading the Duquesne women’s soccer team to a 3-0 victory on Rooney Field Friday night.

Duquense improves to 1-1 with its first win of the season.


HOW IT HAPPENED:

  • Katie O’Connor’s goal in the 47th minute put the Dukes on the board
  • Faccenda added a pair of insurance goals in the 54th and 73rd minutes
  • The Duquesne defense held Oakland to six shots with Kyra Murphy posting two saves

STATS OF THE GAME:

 

  • Kyra Murphy moved to second place on Duquesne’s all-time shutout list with 13
  • Katie O’Connor is now tied for second all-time in career points with 48

 

NEXT UP:
The Dukes head to Morgantown, W.Va. to face No. 1 WVU on Sunday at 5 p.m.
