From University of Pittsburgh athletic report

Pitt men’s soccer team has played three conference games this season. All three have been against top-10 nationally ranked teams, and again, they were on the losing end.

The Panthers dropped a 3-0 decision to the eighth-ranked Clemson Tigers Friday night at Historic Riggs Field.

With the loss, the Panthers drop to 3-5-0 overall and 0-3-0 against conference foes, while Clemson improves to 7-1-0 overall and 2-1-0 in the ACC.

The Tigers were dominant on the attack, registering eight shots on goal and drew eight corners.

Clemson struck first in the 32nd minute as Diego Campos sent in his fourth goal of the season.

The Tigers tacked on their second goal in the 58th minute off the foot of Oliver Shannon.

Clemson added its third goal in the 79th minute off a header from Robbie Robinson in the middle of the box.

This was Pitt’s third top-10 team and ACC foe of the season.

The Panthers return to Pittsburgh Tuesday, Sept. 26 to take on West Virginia in the Backyard Brawl.

Action is set to get underway at 7 p.m. at Ambrose Urbanic in the Petersen Sports Complex.
