Luchini, Harrigan & Snyder named United Soccer Coaches HS All-Americans

Three local players — North Allegheny’s Josh Luchini, Norwin’s Emily Harrigan and Moon’s Delaney Snyder, all seniors, were named to the United Soccer Coaches Boys and Girls All-America Teams for the fall 2017 season.

Announced earlier this week, it was yet another impressive accolade for each — all who were also involved in leading their schools to WPIAL and PIAA playoffs in late October and November.

Luchini also participated in the High School All-American Game at La Costa Field on the campus of Celebration (FL) High School on Saturday. A Lehigh commit, Luchini put the East on the scoreboard in the 85th minute during the West’s 4-1 victory.

Luchin who plays for the club Steel Town Magic, ended his high school career at North Allegheny with 62 goals and 42 assists — including 36 goals and 17 assists during his senior campaign, which he led the Tigers to the WPIAL title, defeating a previously unbeaten Peters Township squad.

Moon’s Delaney Snyder – LONG HONG

Snyder, who has committed to attend and play soccer at Miami (OH), was the catalyst for Moon’s impressive back-to-back WPIAL and PIAA Girls 3A title winning team — scoring the lone goal to help Moon clinch an unbeaten season. Snyder scored 107 goals in her impressive High School career.

Harrigan, a Rutgers commit, racked up an impressive scoring total of more than 80 goals in addition to multiple WPIAL titles in 2015 and 2016 — and helping lead the Knights to the PIAA title in 2017.

This also marks the second straight year the Riverhounds Development Academy (RDA) had two players earn All-America status with Snyder and Harrigan this year, while Bailey Cartwright and Aideen O’Donoghue were RDA players honored in 2016.
